Sunday School
Immanuel Leidy’s Church offers a variety of Sunday school classes for all ages from 8:45-9:45 a.m.
Children's Sunday School
Children’s Sunday school is offered for children ages 2 through confirmation (age 12-13). The current curriculum is from Truth 78 which was formerly Children Desiring God. Parents are encouraged in download the Growing in Faith Together (G.I.F.T.) app so they know what their children are being taught and can interact with them throughout the week to reinforce spiritual truths learned in class.
Confirmation Class
The Confirmation Class is a two-year study for youth entering the 8th and 9th grades. Students are given a reference Bible at the outset of the class and spend the first year reading through it via weekly assignments. The focus of the second year is our Christian family history (warts and all!) as well as getting grounded in basic Christian theology via study of the Heidelberg Catechism. Meeting during the academic year, the class prepares students to become informed and responsible members of the body of Christ and of the local congregation. This class meets in room 125.
Friends Sunday School
The Friends Sunday school class provides a safe and loving environment for those with disabilities and special needs. Participants enjoy singing, Bible stories, and creative activities. This class meets in Room 124.
Issues & Answers
Understanding how to apply the Bible to all of Life can be difficult given the ever-changing and confusing world in which God has placed us. Issues and Answers is a teaching and discussion forum seeking to equip Christians to think with biblical clarity about contemporary issues. The class explores issues pertaining to doctrine/theology, ethics, apologetics/evangelism, church history, economics, creation/evolution, human sexuality, aesthetics and worldview. This class is overseen by Dave Reich and is led by a variety of teachers and representatives from organizations that Leidy’s church supports through its missions budget. This large group class meets in Fellowship Hall.
Ladies' Class
The book of Nehemiah called the people of God to arise and build. The Ladies’ Sunday School class seeks to help woman do much the same thing. Specifically, each Sunday the class meets to build unity and fellowship among the ladies of Leidy’s Church. This is located in Room 118.
Sunday School with Pastor Steve
Each Sunday, Pastor Steve leads a class that walks very carefully through a book of the Bible. If you like to grow in your faith by deep study of God’s Word, this class is for you. It is located in Room 211.
To Be Determined
This Sunday School Class is designed for those who have recently graduated from High School through college. Life can be confusing and often plans are somewhat uncertain during this stage of life. To Be Determined is designed to help young adults navigate through change and uncertainty, and learn how to apply faith to life. It is located in Room 111.
Youth Sunday School
Each Sunday the youth of Leidy’s Church meet to foster a deeper understanding of the Scripture and gain greater wisdom in knowing how to apply the Scriptures to life. While this is primarily for high school students, all are welcome. It is located in the Youth Room.
