Taking Hold of Hope

This week’s sermon title is “Taking Hold of Hope.” Hebrews 6 has one of the scariest passages in the Bible. It speaks of those who “have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance.” That is a no-hope passage! Hebrews 6 encourages us to be imitators of Abraham who through faith and patience inherited the promises of God. Examining Abraham’s chart of faith reveals several blips of unfaith. Those blips can help us in our walk of faith. Sometimes we need a good “bad example.” Abraham also had plenty of good “good examples.” Like Abraham, we need to have hope as an anchor for our souls.
