THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Seeing with Vision. Over the summer we’ve been going through the book of Hebrews. We found it filled with doctrinal, sacramental, historical, and spiritual matters. Today we will look at the first half of the last chapter of Hebrews. Get ready to be shocked! The text is thoroughly practical. How can this be? What does this tell us? It tells us that presuppositions matter. How we think about and understand doctrinal, sacramental, historical, and spiritual matters will inevitably determine how we live life from day to day. If we see with vision we will be seeking the city.
WE WELCOME DAVID MBUGUA to Leidy’s Church this morning. He is the Manager of the Mahiga Children’s Home in Kenya. Mahiga is one of eight Children’s Homes in the Chariots for Hope ministry network in Kenya. David will be glad to speak with folk following the service of worship about the ministry of Mahiga.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD will be kicking off in the near future. Velva Stevenson has headed this initiative for us in recent years. Those who might be interested in helping oversee and put in place this program should contact the church office in order to get the machinery rolling!
SLMT-CUCUTA REPORT BACK takes place in the Issues & Answers class next Sunday morning. Fresh empanadas, fruit juices, and other enticing features will be served along with pictures and first-hand accounts of the mission trip to Colombia. It was a very productive time, with on-the-scene experiences of what is happening along the Venezuelan border. A great connection was made with our partner congregation, the Iglesia Luz y Verdad and many of her members. Each team member will share a little bit. There will be ample time for questions and answers as well. Everyone is invited/encouraged to come out at 8:45 to get some fresh food and some fresh info from the Colombian/Venezuelan border.

The pastoral care team is seeking volunteers to lead small groups at Dock Woods and Souderton Mennonite Homes. Training will be provided. For more information, contact Ray Hurst at 215-368-4438 ext.44227 or at Ray.Hurst@livingbranches.org.

JUDGEMENT HOUSE: It takes an entire congregation and then some to put on a good Judgement House! We have many people signed up to help, but we still need lots of volunteers to make all the moving parts work. You may wonder, what could I do to help? Consider: food preparation, security, group guiding, set construction, acting, counselors, childcare, and a few more things as well. In short, we need people of all sorts. To get further information, speak with Pastor Michael.
