THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Family and Work Relationships Matter to God. We all know the importance of maintaining healthy relationships at home and at work. We know it best when those same relationships are splintered by selfishness, distrust, or by forced maltreatment. When sin’s corruptive influences poison relationships by these or other ways, the outcome can turn out to be abusive or even deadly in the end. Let us see why these inspired guidelines for family and work relations matter to God and bless us as we obey them.
WE LOVE TO PRAY FOR OUR KIDS! Each year we do that by matching kids with adults through the Pray Cards. It is time once again to send in your pictures of your children ages 0 – 12th grade. Please drop them off at the office or you can email them to office@leidyschurch.org. Thank you so much. We value your kids and this is a wonderful way to connect people at Leidy’s Church.

AFGHAN REFUGEE HELP. Thanks to all who contributed much-needed materials for the Afghan refugees. Those goods were delivered to the distribution site late this week. We hope to make another delivery this coming week. So, if you were not able to help last week, but would like to do so this week, feel welcome to do so.
GOSPEL GLEANING PRAYER POINTERS
- Giving thanks is a hallmark of the people of God. Not just generic thanks, but thanks to Him, the Lord of heaven and earth. As the 450 literacy students finish their course of study, our prayer for them is reflected in the words of Psalm 119:171-172. May this be experienced in their lives. Let my lips utter praise, For You teach me Your statutes. Let my tongue sing of Your word, For all Your commandments are righteousness. What a precious gift they have received in learning biblical truths. May our hearts and mouths and lives be filled with thanksgiving for the same reason!
- Pray for the Tamajaq Tuareg people in Niger. Population: 1,116,000. Religion: 99.91% Islam, 0.09% Christian. Though the Tuaregs are virtually all Sunni Muslim, they have a reputation among other Muslims for being lukewarm in their faith. They practice a passive form of Islam, infused with folk beliefs and magic. In contrast to other Muslims, the men wear veils called tidjelmousts, but the women do not. There are few known Tamajaq Tuareg believers in Niger. Prayer is the key to reaching the Tuareg with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
A/V HELP NEEDED: We are in need of people to work in the booth on Sunday mornings. Contact the church office or speak to Sam Im.
iBLAST – We’ve told you how great it is, but don’t take our word for it. Go see what our kids have said about their time at iBlast. Once you are convinced, sign up at leidyschurch.org/iblast.
CONSISTORY meets this Wednesday evening at 7:30 in the Conference Room.
A NEW PRECEPT CLASS begins this Thursday from 9-11:30 a.m. We will be studying 1 Samuel. From Judges to Kings, from the departure of God’s glory to the assurance of His help, from inquiring of the Lord to inquiring of a medium – this book of contrasts sets before us the importance of a life of obedience and how it’s lived out in the midst of interpersonal conflicts. Contact Verna at gvbowman@comcast.net if you want to reserve a book.
MANY THANKS for the abundant blessings bestowed upon us during this difficult time. Praising God and thanking Him for Leidy’s Church family. Simply grateful, Dale & Karen Alderfer
THE iBLAST PROGRAM is in need of used magazines. If you have any, they can be left in the appropriately marked box in the office. Thank you.
INVITING ALL LADIES to join our monthly Ladies of Leidy’s meeting. We meet the first Tuesday of every month. We will be meeting this Tuesday, at 7pm in Room 123. Please see Debbie Schatz if you have any questions.
WANTED: Gently used bras (including sports, nursing and camisoles). There is a strong demand for used clothing in poorer countries. Bras are especially valued and command top dollar in the marketplace. Free The Girls is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that collects gently used and new bras that are then used as inventory for formerly trafficked women to launch their own business selling bras in their local markets. Just four bras provide a living wage for a woman in El Salvador. Two hundred bras are a half year’s inventory for a woman in Mozambique. There is a collection box in the narthex coat closet for your donations. Thank you
THANK YOU from Stan Friday for all the birthday cards sent to help celebrate his 99th birthday.
