WITHIN THE FELLOWSHIP:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Roger Jones, Donna Moyer 15th; Sylvia Holloway, Emma Lafty, Samuel Murphy 18th.
THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Be on the Alert. There is no deception worse than self-deception. In our day, virtue signaling is all the rage. Individuals do it. Companies do it. Communities do it. Sports teams do it. What is the goal of all the virtue signaling? To be seen as virtuous, of course! But what if that label “Virtuous” proves not to be accurate. Everyone may think it is accurate, but perhaps it isn’t Then what? We’ll see some examples of “then what” in our texts. Samuel brings a wake-up call to King Saul, while Jesus tells a parable about virgins who need to wake up. The church in Sardis needs to be on the alert.

IT’S NOT TOO LATE to bring a friend to see Unplanned, a movie based on the true story of a Planned Parenthood clinic director who became a pro-life advocate in 2009. It is rated R for scenes showing a surgical abortion as well as a medical abortion– that is, the woman takes a pill at home and it induces a miscarriage in a matter of hours. This movie will be shown in the Fellowship Hall at 7:30 pm on Friday, November 15, especially for grades 8-12. A donation of $10 is suggested for adults and $5 for youth. The proceeds will support the In This Time of Need outreach in Colombia. Registering ahead will help us purchase the right amount of popcorn, candy, and soda. You may sign up on the narthex wall by the elevator or call the church office. Walk-ins are also welcome. Feel free to bring lawn chairs so you can be comfortable and have your cup holder handy. Call Rachel Tyson at 215-453-0346 if you have questions.
