News and announcements from the Immanuel Leidy's Church community.

WITHIN THE FELLOWSHIP:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Owen Lockman 29th; Shirley Michalak, Bill Teate 30th; JoAnn Elliott December 1st; Everest Guerreiro 4th.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Let’s Get Radical. Jesus makes outrageous statements. He had the audacity to say that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of needle than for a rich fellow to get into the kingdom of God! Given that we live in the most affluent society in the history of the world, we might want to take notice! Of the seven churches to whom Jesus sends letters, none is rebuked as severely as the church in Laodicea. Will they be able to “hear” what Jesus speaks? Well, maybe we need to ask that question more of ourselves than of the Laodiceans. Jesus has a radical call and He has a radical promise.

COME, GIVE THANKS at our Thanksgiving Eve service this Wednesday evening. It begins at 7:30 and will include testimonies, songs, and a moving message on Eucatastrophes. Begin your Thanksgiving celebration in worship with God’s people.

THE SACRAMENT of Holy Communion will be shared during the service of worship next Sunday. Come prepared to worship and receive.

All ladies are welcome to attend . . . just sign up for what you would like to make on the sheet posted in the narthex. Following the meal our business meeting will be held. If you have questions, speak with 2019 President, Alice Kraus.

GOT YOUR SILK PURSE YET? Tables are in the narthex where you can register to be part of our Gospel Gleanings outreach. Leidy’s Church wants to provide the necessary undergirding for the gospel of the Lord Jesus to be taken to a people group in India that has never heard the name of Jesus. We need folk willing to pray daily for a year and give a dollar a day for a year. Stop at one of the tables to join the support team and get your silk purse.

DENNY AND SUE BARGER wrote to say: We are grateful for the service of worship and fellowship meal for my mom’s funeral. Our family and friends were blessed. Please give our thanks to the ladies that provided a wonderful meal and a time of fellowship by which family and friends could reunite. And please thank Nancy for her marvelous organ playing. Our hearts are filled with comfort and joy.

THE PENN VIEW BRASS BAND will be in concert at Leidy’s Church on Sunday evening, December 15th. Comprised of 25 brass players, 3 percussionists, and 1 organist, this British-style brass band will present favorite classics, popular tunes, and well-known Christmas carols. The concert begins at 6:30, doors open at 6. A free-will offering will be taken in support of the Tim Tebow Night to Shine event to be held at Leidy’s Church on Feb. 7, 2020. Save the date on your calendar now.

THE FLOWER CHART FOR 2020 is posted on the wall in the narthex for those who would like to sponsor flowers for our sanctuary. The chart will be posted until the end of December

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY to sign up for the Advent Workshop which happens next Sunday beginning at 4:00. Be sure to sign up for the craft you wish to make before the lines are filled. All attending are invited to share pizza and beverages afterwards. Please bring a dessert to share. If you’re not “crafty”, but don’t want to miss eating with your family and friends, sign up only for the meal. We need to know you’re joining us, so we know how many to expect. The crafts and pizza are free.

THANKS TO EVERYONE who took and displayed a Craft Show sign! Please return them to the church office for storage so we can use them again next year!

THANK YOU from Dianne Nase: Thank you to our church family for the cards, prayers and concerns following my surgery, prayers are so appreciated.  A special thank you to our small group from Don and myself for coming together and putting on the luncheon on the 17th.
