News and announcements from the Immanuel Leidy's Church community.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sam Shafer 22nd; Beth Guntz, BJ Kulp 23rd; Jennifer Keeble, Christian Rau 24th; Gary Filson, Ethel Greenawalt, Lorne Slack 25th.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Herb and Martha Wolgemuth 19th; Ed and Cheryl Hall 20th.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Nations and Individuals. Both nations and individuals are called to answer for their acceptance of or rejection of the Lord. The Lord speaking through Amos has presented a pretty bleak picture of the nation of Israel. The rest of the Scriptures confirm the witness of Amos. As we see the culture of our day grow in rejecting the Lord, we must remain faithful as individuals. Whether the Lord grants our requests and brings about repentance in the land or not, He will always remain faithful to His promises. He will see His people through.

HELP WANTED! We have a few shifts open at this Saturday’s Craft Show. If you are a Ladies of Leidy’s member and haven’t signed up yet . . . please contact the church office ASAP! Even if you aren’t a member of Ladies of Leidy’s, we welcome the help! This is always a fun day . . . come and join us!

IT’S COMING . . . sooner than you think . . . the Annual Leidy’s Christmas Craft & Gift Sale, November 21st from 9 to 2.  Don’t fight the crowds at the mall, grab a friend and your Christmas gift list and take care of all your shopping needs in one stop! Lunch and baked goods will be available all day. Many of the items at our sale are one-of-a-kind, so shop early for best selection. Spread the word that we are NOT cancelled and will be nice and spread out to make everyone feel comfortable! Please wear a face covering . . . so we can all stay healthy for the holidays!

THE ADVENT WORKSHOP is Sunday, November 29th. This is an event for the entire family to enjoy! Samples of the crafts are on the table outside the Fellowship Hall along with a sign-up sheet for each. Please consider teaching or assisting with the craft if no one has signed up to do so. If you have questions, speak with Shannon Kehs or anyone from Ladies of Leidy’s.

ATTENTION LADIES, you are invited to a Christmas Potluck Dinner on Tuesday, December 8th right here at church. The BIG RED sign-up sheet is on the wall right near the elevator. Great food, wonderful fellowship, and a blessing for all who attend.

HELP IS NEEDED in childcare during the worship service. Would you like to get to know the children at Leidy’s Church a little better? The best way to do that is to volunteer in the Nursery, in the Lambs, or in Children’s Church. Help is especially needed in Children’s Church. Contact Justine Smith if you would like to help in any of these childcare areas.

FOOD COLLECTION is taking place under the auspices of the Church & Community for the Keystone Opportunity Center. Make sure to check the expiration date on donated items to insure they are useable. Please have them here by next Sunday. Thanks for your help. Here are the foods they are looking for at this time:

Canned vegetables – corn, green beans, potatoes, carrots, beets; Pork & Beans; Beef Stew; Tuna; Canned fruit in juice; Juice boxes; Jelly (strawberry & grape); Canned chicken; Soups – all varieties; Saltine crackers, Cheez-its, Wheat Thins; Snacks: granola bars, peanut or cheese crackers, Pop Tarts; Size 5 and 6 diapers; Dish soap.

WE WANT TO WELCOME Sam Im and his family to Leidy’s Church. Sam was hired as a part-time IT Coordinator for the church. Please take a moment to introduce yourself to Sam, his wife, Sarah, and their two children, Noel and Caleb.

ARE YOU REMEMBERING? The deadline is approaching when silk purses for collecting our daily Gospel Gleaning dollar are due in. It’s a good thing to finish strong! Let’s press on with our daily dollar donation and our diligent daily prayers for the Erukulu people.

PRAYER-POINTERS. Here are two prayer points as we pray for the Gospel Gleanings outreach to the Erukulu people:

  • Pray for the 450 literacy students to comprehend the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic. We forgot how difficult it can be to learn something entirely new, especially when one is learning in the evenings after a long and hard day’s work.
  • Pray for the Holy Spirit to cause those near the 450 students not to put hindrances and obstacles to the learning that is taking place. Sometimes spouses or employers or neighbors may seek to discourage or inhibit the new direction being sought by the students. So, pray against jealousy, fear, and resentment that might motivate such obstacles.

BOXES DUE BACK for Operation Christmas Child today! This allows time for them to be processed at Samaritan Purse headquarters and then be shipped across the country and around the globe to bring Christmas cheer and Gospel hope to many.

THE MISSIONS COMMITTEE meets this Wednesday evening at 7:00 in the Conference Room.

ATTENTION BAKERS! An important part of our Craft & Gift Sale is our baked goods! We would like to extend an invite to ALL bakers . . . not just the Ladies of Leidy’s! ALL proceeds go right to the Renovation Fund. Just bring to the Fellowship Hall anytime Friday or before 9 a.m. Saturday. Please label it “craft show bake sale.” Individually wrapped items will sell best . . . please label if possible and note if your item has any potential allergens like nuts or peanut butter. Thanks in advance for your support.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY this Friday morning at 5:30 a.m. in the Youth Room. If you have any questions see Dave Doran.

DO YOU LIVE in a High-traffic area? We only have a few yard signs for our Craft Show…so we want them strategically placed!  If you think you get a lot of foot/car traffic in your area…please stop in the church office for a sign! Thanks!
