THE SERMON TITLE this morning is It’s Customary. Every nation has customs, ways of behaving, and ways of looking at the world that typify the culture. Behind all the customs may be found a worldview, an overarching understanding of how the world works, how it was made, and how one should conduct oneself in it. Worldview is the wallpaper of life, the background for all one sees and does. God gives very specific instructions to Jeremiah about worldview and customs. Paul presents the basic Christian worldview to assembled Greek philosophers, while Jesus insists God does have an unchanging worldview.

STAN AND LARUE FRIDAY are setting off for France next Sunday morning! Seventy-five years ago, Stan was part of the crew that took to the beaches in the D-Day operations. France is wanting to recognize and honor those who participated, so Stan is headed back, along with wife LaRue. We’ll be praying for them this morning.

WE KNOW YOU HAVE HEARD of SLMT, what about SDMT? They’re somewhat dramatic. They love Jesus. They share the Gospel. They proclaim God’s grace to sinners and have a lot of fun. They put on an excellent Judgement House! We have needs for tour guides, actors young and young at heart, craftsmen, extras and many more people. If you would like to be a part of Judgement House, please come to the walk-through of the script on June 9th at 4:00 p.m. or June 11th at 6:30 p.m. in Room 123.

LUKE 19 – Patricia Martindell is offering her collection of sea shells that you can use in making craft items or maybe you want to expand your own collection. The shells come in all sizes and from different parts of the world. You can contact Patricia at 215-258-0320 if interested in any of the shells. Cost is a donation.

LUKE 19 PROJECT – On Thursday, June 6, from 7-9 pm, Barb Gehman and Gina Shoemaker will be hosting a Luke 19 DIY Wood Sign Workshop.  Come learn how to create a wooden sign from scratch while supporting Cucuta feeding program. Participants will be able to choose from 4 different saying choices and various stain and paint options are available.  Please see the Luke 19 wall in the narthex for brochure details.  Suggested donation is $35.

Our SLMT-Cucuta dates are August 14-21. We need to get tickets sooner rather than later. If you would like to be part of this time, please contact Pastor Niederhaus or the church office no later than this coming Wednesday, May 29th. This team will be helping with the feeding and outreach program to Venezuelan refugees. No working knowledge of Spanish necessary.

SOME PEOPLE INDICATED they would have liked to take the CPR class offered by Jim and Genie as part of their Luke 19 project, but the dates didn’t suit their schedules. If you would be interested in participating in a future class led by them, there is a sign-up sheet posted on the narthex wall. Once a date is determined, you will be notified.

FOOD PREP WORKDAY for SLMT-Pik happens on Monday, June 3rd from 9-12. If you can help in any way, please sign up on the narthex wall. If you have any questions see Lorraine Kroesser.

PATTERNS OF PRAYER take place the first and third Saturdays of each month. We pray in the morning from 9 to 11 in Room 117. Participants are welcome to come and go as schedules permit/necessitate. This Saturday is the first Saturday of June, so we’ll be praying and you’re welcome to join as well. If you have any questions or suggestions for prayer, please speak with Patricia Martindell.

Our youth group (with 5th graders included) will be Bowling for Babies on Sunday, June 9th from 6 to 9 p.m. These fine young bowlers will be tasked with finding sponsors to support their efforts to support Morning Star. Please don’t leave them in the gutter! Be a sponsor. For more information contact Rachel Tyson or Pastor Michael or see the information provided in the narthex.

NEW MEMBERS WILL BE RECEIVED into the fellowship of Leidy’s Church on Sunday, June 23rd. Those persons who are interested in becoming members should contact the church office or Pastor Niederhaus so proper arrangements can be made.

On Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm, training will take place in Room 123. Your role in VBS will be very defined, thus you will need to know and practice what you will be doing before you get to Canada. So, come to the training having read the curriculum. Then read and practice the material for which you will be responsible, so that you have it well in-hand prior to our departure on the 11th of July.

A YOUNG WOMAN from our church family, Glory Griffith, does cleaning, gardening and babysitting for hire. She can be reached at 610-222-4431.

THE JUNE NEWSLETTER is in your church mailbox. Extra copies and large print copies are in the narthex hutch. Take time to read it.
