THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Pentecost – Church Relationships. As Paul writes to Titus, he gives him instructions for the way people are to behave and treat one another. Left to their own power, sinful people are not able to follow Paul’s instructions. If that were the final word for church life, his words would be our death and destruction. Praise be to God for our Savior Jesus Christ and His Spirit whom He has poured out upon His people.
THE SACRAMENT of Holy Communion will be shared at the service of worship this morning. We invite all members of the church of Jesus Christ to share in this sacrament.

URGENT REQUEST FROM INDIA. The recent upsurge in Covid cases in India has been catastrophic for many. GTi Hope, our connection to India, wants to distribute 3,000 Covid Relief Kits where literacy projects have taken place or are taking place. Each kit costs $35 and provides an impoverished family of four with basic food forthree weeks as well as sanitation supplies and masks. Along with our offering the next three Sundays we also will receive special offerings to help with Covid relief in India. Everyone is invited to participate. To do so, use a Second Mile envelope from a pew rack and mark it Covid Relief – India.
PLEASE JOIN US FOR OUR NEXT TACOS prayer event this Tuesday at 7 pm. TACOS reminds us to come to God in prayer with Thanksgiving, Adoration, Confession, while remembering to pray for others and ourselves. This month we will be meeting in the choir room downstairs. We will open our time with songs of praise & worship at 7 pm and wrap things up by 8:30. Let’s us not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Hope to see you there!
CALLING FOR HELP. The sign-up sheets for SLMT ’21 are up. Your help is needed. Please sign up sooner rather than later. We plan to have an Orientation Meeting on Wednesday evening June 16th. We need people who can drive nails, carry loads, cook food, use a shovel, do drywall work, push a wheelbarrow, paint, and you-name-it. Take a week and give it to the Lord to use you as He sees fit on one of the SLMT ’21 Work Weeks. Don’t forget: Saturday work is available too! ?
GOSPEL GLEANING PRAYER POINTERS
- Covid continues to be a threat in India. Likewise, hostility to Christianity continues to rise. This week we might use Psalm 119:109 as a prayer launching pad. My life is continually in my hand, yet I do not forget Your law. For the Erukula Literacy Students and their Teachers the first part of this verse can be very true on several levels. We should pray for the last half of the verse to be true in their lives as well. May God give them (and us!) grace to remember His Word, His law, and seek to live by its light. It provides the light of Life!
Much of the land area of Chad and Niger is desert. That is true both meteorologically and spiritually. Yet God in His kindness is establishing oases in the midst of desert lands. As we pray for the Christians of Chad and Niger, we should give thanks that God has brought them to the Spring of the Water of Life. In addition, the Lord is giving them the desire to show others the way to the Water of Life. Let’s pray God will give them wisdom, protection, and His favor as they endeavor to do so.
