News and announcements from the Immanuel Leidy's Church community.

WITHIN THE FELLOWSHIP:

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Ethan Shoemaker 18th; Olivia Shoemaker 20th; Ken Mark, Bob Peterman 23rd; Cassy Olszyk, Rick Kehs, Ken Peck, Thelma Spitzkopf, Tony Wilwert 24th.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Faith & Favoritism Do Not Mix. In chemistry, there are substances that are immiscible, meaning substances that are not capable of combining together, such as the liquids of water and oil. So, faith and favoritism do not mix in the church. James speaks against showing favoritism based on anyone’s status in life. To elevate the rich over the poor by granting prominence to the rich and marginalizing the poor is wrong. There are several reasons why this is so, which we will carefully examine.

WE WELCOME NELSON AND CHRISSY FLOYD to Leidy’s Church this morning. Three decades ago, MorningStar Ministries was just a God-inspired vision. Since that time this vital ministry has connected with women in difficult straits in the midst of pregnancy. Their little house on Broad Street in Souderton has yielded babies born alive rather than babies aborted. Praise God! Chrissy Floyd and husband Nelson have been part of MorningStar from the outset. They will be giving us an up-to-date assessment of this life-changing ministry to mothers and babies.

ISSUES & ANSWERS

GOSPEL GLEANING PRAYER POINTERS

  • Literacy students among the Erukulu people are halfway through their course of study. Each has heard much of the Lord Jesus. We might pray Ps. 119:17 for them: Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your Word. Ask for God’s bounteous mercies to wash through the souls of each student creating the desire keep God’s Word. May each student know such desire is evidence of God’s bounty towards them.
  • Pray for God to cause a good mixture of ministry to flow from Global Disciples and the fledgling churches of Niger and Chad. May God raise up folk to launch into the midst of an unreached people  group, while He raises up others to support them in prayer and resources. Together, may the Holy Spirit cause the Body of Christ to grow where it has never grown before.

NEW MEMBERS WILL BE RECEIVED into the fellowship of Leidy’s Church on Sunday, April 11th. Those persons who are interested in becoming members should contact the church office or Pastor Steve so proper arrangements can be made.

MISSIONS MONTH – During the month of March, Leidy’s Church pays special attention to our mission endeavors. A different mission is highlighted each week. It gives us a chance to connect with those whom we support, while also gaining a fuller understanding of the mission work in which they are engaged. Next week we will welcome Phil and Pratiksha Tyson with Beauty for Ashes/Love-Justice.

MANY THANKS to the person who returned the Games book to Rachel Tyson’s mailbox. She has been searching for this book for years after having left it here at Sunday School or VBS. Could you let her know where you found it?

PATTERNS OF PRAYER take place the first and third Saturdays of each month. We pray in the morning from 9 to 11 in Rm. 117. Participants are welcome to come and go as schedules permit/necessitate. This Saturday is the third Saturday of March, so we’ll be praying and you’re welcome to join as well. If you have any questions or suggestions for prayer, please speak with Patricia Martindell.
