News and announcements from the Immanuel Leidy's Church community.

WITHIN THE FELLOWSHIP:

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Bonnie Pross April 1st; Michael Kehs, Quinn Mahoney 3rd; Allison Hall, Phil Shafer 4th; Gabriel Martindell, Henry Shafer 5th; Doug Elliott, Megan Weiss 6th; Brody Kinney, Evangeline Smith 7th.
  • HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Dean and Beth Kulp 4th; Tom and Judy Leidy 5th.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Faith Training Teachers & Wise Talkers. Do you remember the children’s Sunday School song, “Oh be careful little tongue what you say . . . for the Father up above is looking down in love . . .so be careful little tongue what you say.” This song has serious teaching not just for little children but for us all. God is weighing out our words, and the substance of our words has eternal consequences with God. We will see why this is so as we think about our speech in light of James 3.

WE WELCOME Tim Bentch and Brother Tefere to Leidy’s Church today. Both serve with Global Disciples, our featured mission today. Tim is originally from Missouri, and serves as the Global Worship Specialist, while Brother Tefere, originally from Ethiopia, is the Executive Director of the Global Disciples Alliance, giving oversight to all of the Global Disciples programs. They have much to share and there is much we want to learn.

EASTER SUNDAY is one week from today. The sacrament of Holy Communion will be shared. Please come prepared in heart and mind to share in this sacrament.

GOSPEL GLEANING PRAYER POINTERS

  • The Lord is at work among the Erukula people in India. As the 450 students in the Literacy Program grow in their ability to read, let’s ask the Lord Jesus to help them know and experience Psalm 119:151. You are near, O Lord, and all Your commandments are truth. They face challenges day by day. May the Holy Spirit keep them aware of God’s presence, that He is present to help them. May each student come to know and treasure the truth of God’s Word.
  • Churches Niger and Chad have participated recently in 4-day Equipping Events with Global Disciples. In fact, the event in Chad took place just this past week. Let’s pray for those who attended those meetings to be led of the Lord in how to implement what was presented. May the Holy Spirit give inspiration in the making of plans and may He also open doors for those plans to be put into practice. May folk who have never heard the Gospel, hear it!

GOSPEL GLEANING SIGN-UP is still possible. A table is in the narthex manned by helpful Mission Committee personnel who will get you signed-up and lined-up to be part of our Gospel Gleaning program to support the reach of the Gospel to unreached people groups. A dollar a day combined with a prayer a day is the foundation for the Good News to be taken to those who have no access to the saving truth of Jesus.

NEW MEMBERS WILL BE RECEIVED into the fellowship of Leidy’s Church on Sunday, April 11th. Those persons who are interested in becoming members should contact the church office or Pastor Steve so proper arrangements can be made.

INVITE SOME FRIENDS to come with you to some Easter season services. Our Good Friday evening service happens on April 2nd at 7:00. Easter Sunday is April 4th, when we will have an Easter Breakfast between 8:30 and 9:30. A celebratory service of worship will begin at 10.

ONE OF THE LADIES FROM GOD’S TREASURE HOUSE is looking to rent a room with access to a kitchen in this area. If you know of anything, please contact Gina Stockard at 215-723-7499 or 610-996-5972.

NORAD – THAT’S THE Newly Organized Rejoinder About Drama. It’s also the ministry we have called Judgment House for a number of years. NORAD is beginning to work through a script for the 2021 dramatic gospel presentation. If you would like to help with planning or implementation of this wonderful outreach ministry, please contact Pastor Michael as soon as possible.

WE ARE THANKFUL that our Rummage Room is full and overflowing! Since we would love to still have your items, please hold now until the Sale. You can drop them off between Sunday, May 9th and Tuesday, May 10th. Thank you.

EASTER BREAKFAST: Easter breakfast is back. After missing last year we have dusted off our pots and pans and are looking forward to a wonderful egg casserole, potato, sausage, and fruit breakfast. As usual, the Easter breakfast will be served by Youth Fellowship. We will all be masked and gloved as we serve you through a buffet line from 8:30-9:30. We will also be taking donations to support our brothers and sisters in Christ living in Lebanon who are suffering due to a financial collapse. Invite your neighbors, friends, and family as we come and worship the risen King!

EASTER LILY FORMS can be found on the Welcome Desk. These plants may be placed in memory or in honor of someone. The cost of each plant is $8. Someone will be in the narthex to take your slip and payment. Thank you.

THIRTY PIECES OF SILVER offerings will be collected this morning and next Sunday. There will be a special basket at the Welcome Desk where your offerings may be placed. All the monies collected will be used to help God’s Treasure House pay for the damage done by the Christmas rainstorm.

AS IN PREVIOUS YEARS the church will ring with the sounds of the Hallelujah Chorus again this Easter, and all are invited to participate! If you’ve ever sung or thought of singing the Hallelujah Chorus, please join us for practice Wednesday evening at 7:30.

PATTERNS OF PRAYER take place the first and third Saturdays of each month. We pray in the morning from 9 to 11 in Room 117. Participants are welcome to come and go as schedules permit/necessitate. This Saturday is the first Saturday of April, so we’ll be praying and you’re welcome to join as well. If you have any questions or suggestions for prayer, please speak with Patricia Martindell.

TODAY IS THE LAST SUNDAY of the month and that means this is the Sunday when you can drop in your gospel Gleanings envelope for the Chad and Niger initiative.

THE RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE happens at Leidy’s Church on Friday, April 16th.
