THE SERMON TITLE this morning is This One and That One. God promised Jeremiah that He would be with him, that He would deliver him from his adversaries. There were many adversaries as it turned out! Today we look at one instance to get some idea of the deadly intentions leading figures had toward Jeremiah: they want to kill him! Jeremiah was not the only godly prophet ministering among the people of Jerusalem at that time. A fellow named Uriah had a similar prophetic ministry. Guess what? That man was killed by the king, personally! Why Uriah and not Jeremiah? Likewise, why James and not Peter in Acts 12?

WE WELCOME CLAY AND BECKY WALTER to Leidy’s Church this morning. The Walter family is part of Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) and has sent them all over the world in the last decade or so. Right now, they have returned from Papua New-Guinea because of a family health emergency. We look forward to hearing how God is helping and guiding them through this challenging time.

AN EIGHT-WEEK Ladies Bible Study, taught on DVD by Melissa Kruger with Ligonier Ministries, begins on Monday, April 1st, from 7 to 8 pm in Room 118. The title is Contentment. Our culture encourages us to covet and consume in ways contrary to what is taught in the Bible. This study will help us realize that only in understanding and resting in the person and work of Jesus can ultimate contentment be found. Sign up on the sheet posted on the narthex wall or call the church office.

INQUIRER’S CLASS BEGINS on Sunday, April 7th. This is a class for those interested in learning more about Leidy’s Church. While not a membership class, it is a class one must take before becoming a member. It consists of six separate sessions conducted in the Conference Room on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour. You may register for the class by speaking with the church office or talking with Pastor Niederhaus.

THE CHRISTIAN EDUCATION DEPT. is collecting pictures of children in our Nursery through 12th grade Sunday School classes for 2019 prayer cards which will be distributed on Palm Sunday. Parents, be sure a picture of your child(ren), with their name and birthdate on the back, is turned in to their Sunday School teachers, the church office, or you may email it to office@leidyschurch.org by March 31st. If you do not have a picture, let their Sunday School teacher know, and we will take one for you. It is our desire that each child has an adult praying for them!

NOTE RECEIVED from John Henry Niederhaus. I had a “surprise” surgery recently and on behalf of myself and my family I send my sincere thanks for the thoughts, prayers, and notes from people at Leidy’s Church over the past several weeks. Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and I have made almost a complete recovery.

HEY, STAY FOR LUNCH TODAY. This St. Patrick’s Day is also the day for our once-a-month after-service luncheon. No agenda. Just eat, enjoy fellowship, and leave satisfied. Today’s lunch is provided by the Women’s Sunday School class. Everyone is invited, including visitors, guests, and members. There is no charge for the meal, other than a charge to participate in and enjoy the conversation around your table.

CONTENTMENT: that’s the goal of many. A new Women’s Bible Study – open to all ages – will focus on contentment. It features teaching by Melissa Kruger and will address contentment in an era where the culture entices us to covet and consume in unfaithful ways. There is a better way to approach life, and this study sets it forth. This 8-week course begins Monday the 1st of April (no fooling!). It will meet from 7 to 8 each successive Monday evening in room 118. Please sign up on the sheet posted on the narthex so sufficient workbooks are available.

HELPING HANDS is a network of Leidy’s Church folk who are willing and ready to help others within our fellowship when particular needs arise. The Care Committee coordinates these efforts. HOW ABOUT SOME suprême de volaille à la Kiev? That’s one of several delicious items on the menu for the Love Cradle International banquet. The banquet is free of charge, though a free-will offering will be received. Hearts will be refreshed and encouraged to see and hear what is happening through this ministry.
