THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Can People Change Gods? People are very forgetful. In times of great abundance we tend to forget what it was like to count our pennies. When we are healthy and well, we don’t remember what it was like when we had that bad head cold. In a similar way, as a society grows more sophisticated, more learned, more affluent, there is a tendency to forget the truths by which our lives were formerly ordered. God makes such a charge against the Israelites. They have switched gods! Pilate’s judgment seat shows Jewish leaders in Jesus’ day doing the same thing. How about us–what have we forgotten?

WE WELCOME ANEES ZAKA to Leidy’s Church this morning. A long-time and valued friend of our congregation, he heads up a ministry known as Church Without Walls. It’s an outreach ministry that reaches around the world as well as in our own area. We’re looking forward to hearing what God is doing through this vital ministry.

MANY THANKS to all who participated in last evening’s Chili Cook-Off. It was a good evening, with good fellowship and hearty dining. Best of all, funds were raised for the ongoing ministry of bringing food and Christian hope to Venezuelan refugees in Cucuta, Colombia.

ELDER PRAYER takes place at 7pm this Tuesday evening in Room 121.

GIVE THANKS TO GOD for the ministry taking place in Cucuta, Colombia! What we call In This Time of Need, but which is known in Cucuta as The Good Samaritan program, is providing a hot meal, Christian love, faithful encouragement, and the word of the Gospel to refugees from Venezuela. While giving thanks to God for this ministry, also pray for our fellow Christians on the ground in Cucuta who are making this ministry happen. They are inviting folk to come, preparing the food, cleaning up afterwards, doing programs for the kids, and sharing the gospel by word, deed, and printed material. And none of it happens without our financial undergirding. Praise be to God!

INQUIRER’S CLASS BEGINS on Sunday, April 7th. This is a class for those interested in learning more about Leidy’s Church. While not a membership class, it is a class one must take before becoming a member. It consists of six separate sessions conducted in the Conference Room on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour. You may register for the class by speaking with the church office or talking with Pastor Niederhaus.

THE CHRISTIAN EDUCATION DEPT. is collecting pictures of children in our Nursery through 12th grade Sunday School classes for 2019 prayer cards which will be distributed on Palm Sunday. Parents, be sure a picture of your child(ren), with their name and birthdate on the back, is turned in to their Sunday School teachers, the church office, or you may email it to office@leidyschurch.org March 31st. If you do not have a picture, let their Sunday School teacher know, and we will take one for you. It is our desire that each child has an adult praying for them!

HOW ABOUT SOME suprême de volaille à la Kiev? That’s one of the items on the menu for the Love Cradle International banquet. Taking place on Saturday evening April 6th, it is a great opportunity to learn about and celebrate God’s work among Ukrainian orphans. There is no cost for the banquet, though a free-will offering will be received. Our hearts will be refreshed and encouraged as we see and hear what is happening through this ministry. But you’re wondering, “What in the world is suprême de volaille à la Kiev?” It’s Chicken Kiev. You’ll like it.
