THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Liberating Truth! We celebrate July 4th, Independence Day, to remember how the members of the thirteen colonies of the United States Congress unanimously signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776. Originally, this document declared the independence of United States of America from the tyrannical rule of Great Britain, who violated the colonists’ God-given “unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” It employed the Bible’s liberating truth to real life matters. We too should live by these biblical precepts by the power of the Holy Spirit.
THE ORDINATION SERVICE for Pastor Michael will take place on Sunday, July 26th at 5pm. A signal event in the life of our congregation, we are all invited to enter that date and time into our calendars and plan to be present for this joyful event.
A BIG THANK YOU to the Confirmation Class from Pastor and Mrs. Niederhaus. Hey, Confirmation Class, we’re looking forward to getting out to Lancaster and seeing a show at the Sight & Sound Theater. We might be forced to enjoy a bite to eat while we’re at it. We’ll be thinking of your smiling faces all the while we’re enjoying it. Thank You!
THE NEXT CARE COMMITTEE meeting will be held this Tuesday evening, July 7, at 7 pm in the Conference Room.
IF ANYONE IN THE LEIDY’S CHURCH FAMILY would like to help bless Ben and Sara Shoaf by providing meals, go to https://takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=VHFA7670&welcome=1 to sign up. PRAYER-POINTERS. Here are two prayer points for this week as we pray for the Gospel Gleanings outreach to the Erukulu people:
- Pray that God would put a longing for something better in the hearts and minds of the Erukulu people. Then, ask the Holy Spirit to give them grace to see that “something better” in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Pray for the Holy Spirit to inspire the workers who will be going among the Erukulu people with a love for the Erukulu, even in unlovely situations. Pray the workers will be equipped with good means to help the Erukulu in matters of literacy, hygiene, and, of course, faith.

THANK YOU to Curt Lockman for accompanying our hymns with the trumpet this morning.
DEAR LEIDY’S CHURCH FAMILY. Pat and I want to thank you for all the cards and greetings and well-wishes we’ve received over the past couple of weeks. We are greatly encouraged by and thankful for your thoughts and prayers on our behalf. Also, we are overwhelmed by the gift of a trip out to the Grand Tetons! WooHoo! We’ve already begun planning what all we want to do. Also, we appreciated particularly the singing on June 28th. The Choir Anthem was a wonderfully unanticipated surprise, and absolutely marvelous. Thank you! Also, not to be forgotten, it was a privilege and joy to sing Jesus Saves with all the guys from Consistory one more time. Your kindnesses to us have been extraordinary. With great gratitude, John & Pat Niederhaus
