THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Holy Spirit Empowers Us to be Filled with God’s Fulness. The Apostle Paul’s prayer for believers is a prayer every believer should want to see answered by God in their lives. Paul’s request for divine grace and power to become devoted to God by the Holy Spirit is the ultimate goal for every believer in Christ. Let us examine this inspired prayer in hope that we make it the chief motivation of our prayers and walk with the Lord.

THE SACRAMENT of Holy Communion will be shared at the service of worship this morning. We invite all members of the church of Jesus Christ to share in this sacrament.

IF YOU WOULD like to share special music anytime this summer during Sunday worship, please call Nancy VanDerbeek at 215-896-7664.

A CONGREGATIONAL MEETING is scheduled for August 8th immediately following the service. The purpose of the meeting is to elect Consistory men for the 2022-2024 term. The two elders nominated for the 2022-2024 term are Joe Sciacca and Brian Shoemaker. The meeting is also to seek congregational approval to give consistory the authority to pursue the arrangements necessary for Immanuel Leidy’s Church to be able to sell the property at 276 W. Cherry Lane (old church and Mission House). Any proposal regarding changes to the financial arrangements of the property would be presented to the congregation for approval.

SLMT WORKWEEK TWO is slated to start one week from tomorrow. If you’re looking for someone to report, please let the church office know and you’ll be put in touch with someone looking for support: prayer and financial. WorkWeek Two personnel should expect to receive an email by Wednesday evening giving some details on what to expect, what is required, and how to prepare.

SUNDAY IN THE SHADE IS BACK! On Sunday, August 15th, our worship service will be held on the parsonage lawn beginning at 10:00 with a picnic lunch afterward. It has been a while since we have congregated for worship outside so here are a few things to remember. Everyone will need to bring their own seating, either a chair or a blanket, if possible. Don’t forget sunglasses—the shade moves!—and you may want a hat and some sun block as well. Most importantly bring your heart prepared to praise and worship God together.

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP Pool Party today from 3-6 at the home of the Heebner’s, 2775 Hedrick Rd., Harleysville. Main course is provided, boys need to bring a snack, and girls a drink. Reminder that girls and guys should wear appropriate swimsuits.

GOSPEL GLEANING PRAYER POINTERS

  • As we pray for the Erukula people who are part of the Literacy Project, we should remember that God’s way of discipleship is called progressive sanctification. What that means is that those who have been regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit seek to love the Lord by conforming the ways in which they live to His Word. Here is a good verse to use as a launch pad in praying for that among the Erukula new believers: Psalm 119:59 I considered my ways, and turned my feet to Your testimonies. That’s not such a bad way to pray for ourselves, either!
  • We don’t know where those trained through Global Disciples will end up ministering, only that their efforts will be to reach unreached people groups in Chad and Niger. To that end, this week let’s pray for the Teda people in the desert region of northern Chad. They are known as dessert warriors who live in a harsh environment and, because of recent droughts, in extreme poverty. Most Teda are herdsmen depending on a semi-nomadic system for survival. Converted to Islam in the 1800s, they’ve incorporated many animistic practices. Percentage of Christians: 0.00%.

SAVE THE DATE! The annual Love Cradle Banquet is scheduled for September 25th at 5:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. They will be looking for guests to attend, and also for helpers during the week. Stay posted for details in future bulletins and in the September Newsletter.

THE RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE happens at Leidy’s Church this Friday. You may register before or after church, or you can go to www.redcrossblood.org and in the “Find a Blood Drive” box type in leidyschurch. Click on the link and you’ll be able to see what times are available. Choose the time that best fits your schedule.

PROPERTY WORKDAY – This Saturday from 9 am to 12 noon. We will be doing some general clean-up of the property and weeding, so there are jobs for everyone! If you have questions, please speak with Kendall Musselman.

A GENTLEMAN WHO LIVES @ Ann Reno Park off State Road in Telford is looking for someone to pick him up every now and again so he can attend worship services here at Leidy’s Church. If you are able to help out, please let the church office know of your availability. Thanks!

IN MID-AUGUST a box full of sewing and knitting supplies will be send to Ukraine for Love Cradle. If you would like to add to that, there is a box labeled “Love Cradle Transition House” in the coat room. Thank you for your donations.

FROM JUNE BURKHOLDER: I wish to thank everyone for their care, cards, concern, notes, and prayers during this time of both sadness and gladness of the home going of my mother. Everything is so appreciated. Blessings.
