News and announcements from the Immanuel Leidy's Church community.

WITHIN THE FELLOWSHIP:

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Dave Doran 8th; Paul Kraus, Jill Ott 9th; Randy Godshall, Lewy Stretch 10th; Debbie Caserta 12th; Beth Kulp 13th.
  • HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Rob and Lois Ruth 9th; Rich and Juliana Kapusta 10th.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is The Aim in Life is Christ. We all have goals in life. If you are young, it may be to finish high school and then go to college or a trade school to prepare for your life’s work. If you are out of school, it may involve getting married and having a family, and if you are older it may involve planning for retirement. All of these are considered worthy goals; yet the primary goal for a believer’s life should be knowing Christ! We will examine this biblical truth in the hope of making our chief aim in life, Christ.

THE SACRAMENT of Holy Communion will be shared at the service of worship this morning. We invite all members of the church of Jesus Christ to share in this sacrament.

You’re welcome to inform others who might be interested in this opportunity to bear witness for LIFE.

NIGHT TO SHINE 2021 – Shine Volunteers needed! While this year’s event is virtual, taking place on February 12th, we will still need many volunteers to help with an “in person” event called Shine Thru on Friday, January 22nd from 4 to 8 pm and Saturday, the 23rd from 10 am to 4 pm. This is an opportunity for parents/caregivers to bring their king/queen to a DRIVE THRU event in the Leidy’s Church parking lot to be celebrated and receive their guest experience kit. Please go to leidyschurch.nighttoshine.com to get details and volunteer to help.

THE NEW PRECEPT STUDY that was going to start on January 6th has been pushed back to February 4th. If you have any question, please see Verna Bowman.

FLORAL HELP NEEDED FOR NIGHT TO SHINE Looking for anyone who wants to help create corsages and boutonnieres for our special 2021 NTS participants. No experience needed; just a desire to come out for a few hours and have fun while serving and creating! We need ribbon cutters, flower sorters & cutters, wire assistance, glue gun operators and packaging help. Come join us in the Fellowship Hall on Thursday, January 7th from 9 am to 12 noon (or whatever time your schedule will allow). Call or text Karen Mirabella with any questions: 215-872-6882. Thank you so much in advance.

THE FLOWER CHART FOR 2021 is posted on the wall in the narthex for those who would like to sponsor flowers for our sanctuary. The chart will be posted for a few more weeks.

CONSISTORY meets this Wednesday evening at 7:30 in the Conference Room.

PAUL KRAUS IS COLLECTING cancelled stamps for the Perkasie Leo Club. These will be sent to veterans who use them for therapy. Paul Kraus and his Perkasie Leo Club thanks you!

INQUIRES CLASS is planning to convene during the month of January. If you are interested in finding out more about this local assembly of Christ’s Church, what we doctrinally believe and what ministries we serve and support, please consider joining our next session of the Inquirers Class. In addition to examining our doctrinal beliefs, along with our discipleship, missions and outreach ministries, we will present position papers tackling various moral issues, which must be biblically addressed and responded to. We hope to begin this Inquirer’s Class on Sunday, January 24th. The class will meet in the Conference Room for six consecutive weeks during the Sunday School hour. If you would like to attend, please contact the church office, or speak to someone on the pastoral staff.

GOSPEL GLEANING PRAYER POINTERS

† Pray for the 450 literacy students among the Erukulu people. Ask the Holy Spirit to place within each one a desire to walk in the ways of the Lord. This would include areas such as personal hygiene, finances, relationships with family members, and personal ethics, as well as coming to trust in Jesus as Savior.

† Pray for individual believers and churches in Chad and Niger, that God would give them great joy despite being surrounded by non-Christians and living in difficult cultural conditions. May their joy be such as to seek expression in reaching out to those who have never heard the gospel.

EACH YEAR LEIDY’S CHURCH is blessed with wonderful folks who come alongside families and help kids know and follow Jesus. They are called Sunday School Teachers, and we have the best. However, we have a few Sunday School teaching or assisting needs. Please consider joining the Sunday School teaching squad as they communicate the love of Christ to the kids of Leidy’s church. Please contact the church office to sign up as a teacher or assistant this spring.

THE LEIDY’S CHURCH FAMILY would like to come alongside Tim and Rachel Leidy (and Andrew and Nora) and bless them with meals while Baby Jonas is in the hospital. A sign-up sheet has been posted on the narthex wall for you to get on the list. If you wish to help out and forget to sign up, contact the church office and they will let you know what dates are still available. There are no known food restrictions or allergies at this time.

THE LADIES OF LEIDY’S will be “Laughing Out Loud” at our next meeting when we have “Joke Night”. Did you hear a joke lately that made you laugh out loud? If so, bring it along to our meeting and share it with us. We all need to start the New Year off with a smile on our face, and joy in our heart. Our next meeting is this Tuesday, January 5th at 7pm in Room 123. Serve the Lord together with us in 2021.

WOMEN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL continues with the Sacred Series for the next four Sundays. Beginning soon they will begin a drive thru history of the Gospels. If you have any questions, see Lorraine Kroesser.

THANK YOU from Ed Schmidt for the many cards expressing sympathy he received at the death of his mother.
