News and announcements from the Immanuel Leidy's Church community.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! David Hughes, Arlin Moyer, Maverick Rosenbaum 31st; Chloe Olsyzk, Marje Talbot, Brittany Weiss February 1st; Jerry Kulp, Makenna Murphy 2nd; Carly Camuso, Andrew Leidy, Nancy VanDerbeek 3rd; Sierra Fretz, Janice Jesiolowski, Cheyenne Kehs 4th; Rob Ruth 5th.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Stan and Joan Radcliff February 3rd.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is The Promise. Psalm 103:17 says the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him. In Lamentations 3:22 we’re told the Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease. The first six seals John has seen opened might lead some to question those scriptural assertions. The entire 7th chapter of Revelation, therefore, is a gracious reaffirmation for John (and those folk of the seven churches and for us!) that God’s Promise is always true. In this world we may have tribulation, but Jesus tells His people to take courage for He has overcome the world.

COOKIES FOR NIGHT TO SHINE – Our numbers have increased so we are still in need of bakers to provide cookies and bar cookies to serve our guests at the Night to Shine event that happens on Friday, February 7th. Signup on the sheet posted on the narthex wall. Please, no peanut butter or nuts, and be sure they are delivered to the Leidy’s Church kitchen no later than Thursday, February 6th. Thank you.

BABY-BOTTLE BOOMERANG – Baby bottles are still available on the table in the narthex for you to take home and collect money for the North Care Women’s Clinic. The bottles will be collected on February 23rd

CAROL LYNN MININGER wishes to express how grateful she is for God’s people sharing His love since her surgery several weeks ago with prayer, cards, meals, and visits. Her recuperation time is to be quite lengthy, so please continue to keep her in your prayers.

PATTERNS OF PRAYER take place the first and third Saturdays of each month. We pray in the morning from 9 to 11 in Room 117. Participants are welcome to come and go as schedules permit/necessitate. This Saturday is the first Saturday of February, so we’ll be praying and you’re welcome to join as well. If you have any questions or suggestions for prayer, please speak with Patricia Martindell.

BIBLE BOOK CLUB TO BEGIN meeting once a month at the home of Karen Parry. Called Just the Bible Book Club, it will meet at 7pm on the second Thursday of each month. The first meeting on February 13th will cover the book of Genesis. The address is 527 Hunsicker Road, Telford. Karen’s cell number is 267-446-8367.

PRAYER-POINTERS. Here are two prayer points for this week as we pray for the Gospel Gleanings outreach to the Erukulu people:

  • Thank God for indigenous Indian church planters and evangelists and other workers God has raised up to work among unreached people groups such as the Erukulu.
  • Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide the Bible for India leaders who assign church planters and Bible women and evangelists and youth workers to minister among the Erukulu people.

CONSISTORY MEN be sure you have your rides arranged for the upcoming Consistory Retreat. Also, please retrieve the book from your Consistory mailbox if you’ve not already done so. Pack it with your Retreat gear. It will figure significantly in the Retreat teaching. If you have a chance, you might read chapters 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, and 12.

TO OUR FAITHFUL LEIDY’S FAMILY:  Words can never really express our heartfelt thanks for all your cards, words of encouragement, visits, phone calls, and acts of kindness shown to us during this time of Norm’s illness. God continues to be our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble. We are grateful! Norm and Donna.

MEALS SIGN-UP SHEET – Anyone who would like to participate in our meal ministry by providing an occasional meal for members of our Leidy’s Church family in 2020 should sign-up on the sheet provided in the narthex. Here’s how it works! When we see that someone requires a meal due to having a baby, an illness, or as a result of a hospital stay, Alice Kraus will call the names of those who sign up on a rotating basis to cook and deliver meals for them and their families. This is a one-year commitment only, so be sure to sign up for 2020 even if you were on last’s year’s list. Thank you.

THE FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER is in your mailbox, or you can find them on the narthex hutch.
