THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Sad Reality. When the sixth seal is opened a sad reality is exposed. Down through history God has called men and nations to repentance and faith. Many have refused, insisting on going their own way and doing their own thing. Their own thing inevitably leads to God’s judgment. That judgment is described in our text from Isaiah and, then, Revelation uses much the same imagery. It is calamitous. It reflects the sad reality we memorized in Psalm 2:10-12. Kings of the earth should do homage to the Son that He not become angry and they perish in the way. For His wrath may soon be kindled.

WE WELCOME a representative from the North Care Women’s Clinic to our services today. That representative is our own Ginna Foote! Ginna will explain the outreach ministry of North Care, as well as let us know how the Baby Bottle Boomerang will work. We’re glad to hear more about the necessary, people-helping, God-honoring, and fruitful work of North Care.

LIKE TO BAKE? Then signup on the sheet posted on the narthex wall to provide cookies and bar cookies to serve our guests at the Night to Shine event that happens on Friday, February 7th. Please, no peanut butter or nuts, and be sure they are delivered to the Leidy’s Church kitchen no later than Thursday, February 6th. Thank you.

MARCH FOR LIFE PARTICIPANTS should plan to be at the church by 5:45 this Friday morning. Our Perkiomen Coach is scheduled to begin cruising to DC at 6am. Dress appropriately for the weather conditions of that day. Most likely you will be outside for a good bit of the day. We’ll make breakfast and supper stops where you can purchase good food to your tastes.

JOURNALING THE JOURNEY – Any time is a good time to begin recording a faith journey, especially in the beginning of a new year and new decade!  Whether you are new to journaling or a journaling-dropout, please join us this Thursday evening in Room 118 from 7-8:15, to learn fresh ideas on how to create a legacy of faith by writing it down. One of the purposes of keeping a journal is that we don’t let the things we’ve seen of God in our everyday life fade from our heart. An old notebook can become a treasured keepsake. Journals will be provided for the workshop. Only be careful and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. Deuteronomy 4

PRAYER-POINTERS. Here are two prayer points for this week as we pray for the Gospel Gleanings outreach to the Erukulu people:

Thank God for bringing the Erukulu people group into our consciousness. Ask Him to use our intercessions for good in their lives and future.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to raise up in the midst of the Erukulu people those who will be Elders and teachers and prayer warrior and faithful witnesses – that, is for the foundation to be put in place for Christ’s Church among them.

BIBLE BOOK CLUB TO BEGIN meeting once a month at the home of Karen Parry. Called Just the Bible Book Club, it will meet at 7pm on the second Thursday of each month. The first meeting on February 13th will cover the book of Genesis. The address is 527 Hunsicker Road, Telford. Karen’s cell number is 267-446-8367.

NIGHT TO SHINE VOLUNTEERS need to lock in for one of the two training/information sessions. The first session available is this afternoon at 1pm. The second session is tomorrow evening at 7pm. Both sessions take place at Leidy’s Church. Each volunteer must attend one or the other of these meetings. Each session will last somewhere from 45 to 90 minutes.

REDBOX RE-INVENTED: If you missed the movie Unplanned, two copies of the DVD are available for “renting” from the church office. Even if you have already seen the movie, the bonus features include some interesting short testimonies from several of the people involved in Abby Johnson’s true story and a longer “making of the movie” segment that is inspiring as well. Rated R for scenes showing a surgical abortion as well as a medical abortion, this movie is an accurate portrayal of a Planned Parenthood clinic director who became a pro-life advocate. In order to continue funding the In This Time of Need feeding project in Columbia, we are asking for a $5 donation when you sign out the DVD. Please see the office ladies or give the office a call at 215-723-8707 to make other arrangements for borrowing. (Those who attended the movie night may borrow the DVD for free.)

EVANGELISM COMMITTEE meets this Tuesday evening at 7:00 in the Conference Room.

NEWSLETTER articles for the February newsletter are due in the office by Tuesday. Thank you.
