News and announcements from the Immanuel Leidy's Church community.

WITHIN THE FELLOWSHIP:

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Charlotte Kehs, Wendy Radcliff 15th; Kevin Lehman 17th; Connie Merritt, Renee Shafer 18th; Brian Lafty, Sr., Orion Lockman, Dianne Nase 19th.
  • HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Jim and Pat Eakins 18th.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Reach the Goal by Standing Firm. Standing up for what you believe requires deep conviction and decisive action. It can mean that you willfully surrender certain aspects of your life in order to solidify your beliefs and practices. This exchange of a person’s past to reach forward to his greater purpose involves a transformation. Today, may we learn more about how to follow God’s greater purpose as believers in Christ through the inspired instruction and example given by the Apostle Paul.

GOSPEL GLEANING PRAYER POINTERS

† Pray for the 450 literacy students among the Erukulu people. Ask the Holy Spirit to place within each one a desire to walk in the ways of the Lord. This would include areas such as personal hygiene, finances, relationships with family members, and personal ethics, as well as coming to trust in Jesus as Savior.

† Pray for individual believers and churches in Chad and Niger, that God would give them great joy despite being surrounded by non-Christians and living in difficult cultural conditions. May their joy be such as to seek expression in reaching out to those who have never heard the gospel.

PATTERNS OF PRAYER takes place the first and third Saturdays of each month. We pray in the morning from 10 to 12 in Rm. 117. Participants are welcome to come and go as schedules permit/necessitate. This Saturday is the third Saturday of January, so we’ll be praying and you’re welcome to join as well. If you have any questions or suggestions for prayer, please speak with Patricia Martindell.

SONSHINE PLAYERS and the cast of Faith News in particular:  Plans are in the works to bring Faith News back, and we need to know everyone’s availability! We need to know if your plans have changed and if we need to recast any parts. Also, if you want to be part of the Spring Musical…but missed it last year…it’s not too late to join us! There is no age limit for Sonshine Players! (We’ve had some actors in the past that have been really old!) So, check your email and church mailboxes…or contact Donna Frueh or Laurie Plank for more details!

EACH YEAR LEIDY’S CHURCH is blessed with wonderful folks who come alongside families and help kids know and follow Jesus? They are called Sunday School Teachers, and we have the best. However, we have a few Sunday School teaching or assisting needs. Please consider joining the Sunday School teaching squad as they communicate the love of Christ to the kids of Leidy’s church. Please contact the church office to sign up as a teacher or assistant this spring.

FREE FOR THE TAKING – A set of wooden bunk beds, they can also be converted to two single beds. For details call Tosha at 215-470-1235.

THE LEIDY’S CHURCH FAMILY would like to come alongside Tim and Rachel Leidy (and Andrew and Nora) and bless them with meals while Baby Jonas is in the hospital. A sign-up sheet has been posted on the narthex wall for you to get on the list.
