THE SERMON TITLE this morning is A Trumpet Fanfare. When the Lamb broke open the seventh seal of the book that contained the purpose and will of God there was silence in heaven. It was a holy silence, signifying something remarkable. Into that silence is brought the prayers of the saints. With much incense added, the prayers of the saints ascend to the presence of God. What follows is a violent reaction. Fire from the altar of God is hurled to the earth. What does this mean? It means the judgment of God is about to break forth in a terrible way. The judgments are depicted in the form of a trumpet fanfare, as it were.

A DAY OF PRAYER & FASTING will take place in conjunction with Ash Wednesday. We need to ask God to stretch forth His hand and help our nation, to protect and propel His people in faithful ministry, to heal and help families, to work in and through our congregation, and to refine and purify us as individuals. The day of fasting and prayer will begin on Tuesday evening, February 25th and culminate at the Ash Wednesday service of worship on the 26th.

SLMT MISSION TRIP 2020 SIGNUP is underway! The sign-up sheet is posted on the narthex wall. July 9 through the 19th are the dates. Mark it on your calendar. No one is too young, no one is too old. Likewise, no one is too skilled or unskilled. You simple need to be a ready and willing worker with VBS materials and kids or with maintenance projects and tools. Seek the Lord, perhaps He wants to use you in this year’s ministry to Canada.

BABY-BOTTLE BOOMERANG – Baby bottles are still available on the table in the narthex for you to take home and collect money for the North Care Women’s Clinic. The bottles will be collected in two weeks.

FREE OFFICE DESKS for the taking! We have three solid wooden desks like the ones in some of our staff offices that need a new home. If interested, please let the church office or Dave Doran know.

BIBLE BOOK CLUB TO BEGIN meeting once a month at the home of Karen Parry. Called Just the Bible Book Club, it will meet at 7pm on the second Thursday of each month. The first meeting happens this Thursday and will cover the book of Genesis. The address is 527 Hunsicker Road, Telford. Karen’s cell number is 267-446-8367.

FELLOWSHIP LUNCHEON for February happens on February 23rd. Everyone is invited to stay. The Youth have decided to take responsibility to feed everyone. They hope you hang around and enjoy the fruit of their labors.

THE TBD YOUNG ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS that meets in Rm. 111 is planning another service project for this Saturday morning. We will again be serving breakfast at CHOC (Coordinated Homeless Outreach Center), Building 53 on the grounds of Norristown State Hospital. Please contact Justin/Emma Coale or Jim/Ginna Foote if you are planning to go and we’ll let you know of the  departure time from Leidy’s. (Time varies depending upon need at the center.) It’s usually somewhere around 7:45am and we’re back around 11:30am.  Matt. 25:31-40

THE OUTREACH COMMITTEE is working with someone in our local community who is in need of a medical home lift and a stationary bike. If you have one of these items that you no longer have need of or know of a good resource for acquiring, please contact Joe Sciacca or the church office.

A WOMEN’S BREAKFAST will be held on Leap Day–Saturday, February 29th. Beginning at 9 am, we will serve breakfast, have a devotional thought shared by our own Verna Bowman, and have everyone on their way back home well before lunch. A sign-up sheet will be posted on the wall in the narthex. Join us—God gave us an extra day in 2020 and we would love to spend part of it with you!

PRAYER-POINTERS. Here are two prayer points for this week as we pray for the Gospel Gleanings outreach to the Erukulu people:

Thank God for the universal applicability of the gospel message. It is right and good for all people, whether in the USA among a worldly people or in the mountains of India among the Erukulu people

Pray for the Holy Spirit to work a deep repentance among the worldly people of the USA and the Erukulu people in India. As Romans 2:4 says: . . . the kindness of God leads you to repentance.

THE NIGHT TO SHINE IS HIS-STORY! On Friday evening we had a genuine ball right here at Leidy’s Church! It was a blast! Thank You to all the leaders and volunteers who made it happen! It was a lot of work, but it was worth it. We think things are back in shape this morning, but it could be there is some remnant dishevelment. If you find some, no tsk, tsking! Instead, give thanks to God that He allowed our space to be used as an expression of His grace.

NEW MISSION ENDEAVOR COMING. Plans are in place to take a work team mission group to Ukraine this May. We’ve not done this before. But SLMT-Ukraine is scheduled for May 12-20. Scott Rittenhouse is slated to help direct the work on-site, while Steve Yagilnicky will provide language expertise. Because we need to purchase airline tickets sooner rather than later, we need to confirm by March 8 who will be part of this team. Contact the church office or speak with Pastor Niederhaus if this is of interest to you.

A YOUNG WOMAN from our church family, Glory Griffith, does cleaning, housesitting, and gardening for hire. She can be reached at 610-222-4431 or 267-377-6159.

PATTERNS OF PRAYER take place the first and third Saturdays of each month. We pray in the morning from 9 to 11 in Rm. 117. Participants are welcome to come and go as schedules permit/necessitate. This Saturday is the third Saturday of February, so we’ll be praying and you’re welcome to join as well. If you have any questions or suggestions for prayer, please speak with Patricia Martindell.

MEALS SIGN-UP SHEET – Anyone who would like to participate in our meal ministry by providing an occasional meal for members of our Leidy’s Church family in 2020 should sign-up on the sheet provided in the narthex.

THERE WILL BE A Sunday School teacher meeting on Saturday morning, February 22nd at 9:30 in the Youth Room. Refreshments will be provided.
