THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Hell Unleashed. Do you remember when it is that the judgment of God begins? It begins when God lets a person or a city or a nation or a culture do whatever is desired and, (here’s the judgment), without suffering any negative consequences. At the opposite end of that spectrum is the point when God’s judgment reaches its final culmination. We know when that is: at the great white throne on the day of God’s final judgment. But what about in between those times? Our text from Revelation provides a horrific view of what happens in the interval. All hell breaks loose as the gates to the abyss are opened.
A DAY OF PRAYER & FASTING will take place in conjunction with Ash Wednesday. We need to ask God to stretch forth His hand and help our nation, to protect and propel His people in faithful ministry, to heal and help families, to work in and through our congregation, and to refine and purify us as individuals. The Day of Fasting & Prayer will begin on Tuesday evening, February 25th and culminate at the Ash Wednesday service of worship on the 26th. A signup is on the narthex wall for those who would like to designate a time or times when they will commit to pray in the sanctuary.
SLMT MISSION TRIP 2020 SIGNUP is underway! The sign-up sheet is posted on the narthex wall. July 9 through the 19th are the dates. Mark it on your calendar. No one is too young, no one is too old. Likewise, no one is too skilled or unskilled. You simple need to be a ready and willing worker with VBS materials and kids or with maintenance projects and tools. Seek the Lord, perhaps He wants to use you in this year’s ministry to Canada.
THE MISSION COMMITTEE meets this Wednesday evening at 7:00 in the Conference Room.
BABY-BOTTLE BOOMERANG – Baby bottles are still available on the table in the narthex for you to take home and collect money for the North Care Women’s Clinic. The bottles will be collected next Sunday.
FREE OFFICE DESKS for the taking! We have three solid wooden desks like the ones in some of our staff offices that need a new home. If interested, please let the church office or Dave Doran know.
FELLOWSHIP LUNCHEON for February happens next Sunday. Everyone is invited to stay. The Youth have decided to take responsibility to feed everyone. They hope you hang around and enjoy the fruit of their labors.
PRAYER-POINTERS. Here are two prayer points for this week as we pray for the Gospel Gleanings outreach to the Erukulu people:
Thank God that He is Light, and He sends the Light of the Gospel to people groups the world has forgotten, such as the Erukulu people. Pray for His light to pierce and illumine their darkness.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to keep us remembering the Erukulu people and praying for them and for the Gospel workers He sends to minister among them from Glad Tidings India.
SLMT-UKRAINE takes place May 12-20. Location is Mala Vyska, Ukraine, at the Love Cradle Transition Home facility. Work projects await our team’s arrival! Let the church office or Pastor Niederhaus know sooner rather than later if you would like to be part of SLMT-Ukraine as airline tickets must be purchased soon. Scott Rittenhouse will help direct the work on-site, while Steve Yagilnicky will be the language facilitator. This may be your best opportunity to experience the wonder of a Ukrainian spring!
THERE WILL BE A Sunday School teacher meeting this coming Saturday morning at 9:30 in the Youth Room. Refreshments will be provided.
THE OUTREACH COMMITTEE is working with someone in our local community who is in need of a medical home lift and a stationary bike. If you have one of these items that you no longer have need of or know of a good resource for acquiring, please contact Joe Sciacca or the church office.
A WOMEN’S BREAKFAST will be held on Leap Day–Saturday, February 29th. Beginning at 9 am, we will serve breakfast, have a devotional thought shared by our own Verna Bowman, and have everyone on their way back home well before lunch. A sign-up sheet is posted on the wall in the narthex. Join us—God gave us an extra day in 2020 and we would love to spend part of it with you!

MEALS SIGN-UP SHEET – Anyone who would like to participate in our meal ministry by providing an occasional meal for members of our Leidy’s Church family in 2020 should sign-up on the sheet provided in the narthex.
