  • HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Jerard and Pam Gordon January 6th.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Spiritual Vitality Must Be Preserved. When dealing with a major medical condition it may not be enough to have an invasive surgical procedure to correct the issue. Medically supervised antiseptic measures and rehabilitative treatments are required to promote healing to insure recovery. This is true spiritually as well. The vitality of one’s new life in Christ requires Spirit-led treatments to remain spiritually healthy. Paul knew believers needed such reinforcement to preserve the spiritual vitality of the church; so, he sends Timothy and Epaphroditus to model and minister for their welfare.

THE SACRAMENT of Holy Communion will be shared at the service of worship next Sunday.

THE FLOWER CHART FOR 2021 is posted on the wall in the narthex for those who would like to sponsor flowers for our sanctuary. The chart will be posted for a few more weeks.

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY to sign up for the committees of Consistory for 2021. Read over the responsibilities of each committee and prayerfully consider where you might best serve the Lord and Leidy’s Church.

MARCH FOR LIFE BUS SIGN-UP sheet is posted on the narthex wall. It’s first-come, first served! The date of the 2021 March for Life is Friday, January 29th. Thanks to some undergirding financial support from the Church and Community Committee, the cost for the round-trip ride on a plush Perkiomen Tours coach is still only $12. You’re welcome to inform others who might be interested in this opportunity to bear witness for LIFE.

KRISTA TYSON is interning at Worthwhile Wear, an organization that helps women who are survivors of human trafficking. These women would like to give back to other women who find themselves in a similar situation, or who are vulnerable to being trafficked. They are looking for donations this holiday season for them such as: tube socks, toiletries (toothbrush, shampoo, soap, etc), gloves, hats, scarves, masks, feminine products, drawstring bags, and hand sanitizer. There will be a box in the coat closet labeled Worthwhile Wear where you can place your items, donations will be accepted until January.

NIGHT TO SHINE 2021 – Shine Volunteers needed! While this year’s event is virtual, taking place on February 12th, we will still need many volunteers to help with an “in person” event called Shine Thru on Friday, January 22nd from 4 to 8 pm and Saturday, the 23rd from 10 am to 4 pm. This is an opportunity for parents/caregivers to bring their king/queen to a DRIVE THRU event in the Leidy’s Church parking lot to be celebrated and receive their guest experience kit. Go to to get details and volunteer to help.

HELP IS NEEDED in childcare during the worship service. Would you like to get to know the children at Leidy’s Church a little better? The best way to do that is to volunteer in the Nursery, in the Lambs, or in Children’s Church. Help is especially needed in Children’s Church. Contact Justine Smith if you would like to help in any of these childcare areas. Please make sure that you have your background checks that are needed in order.

FLORAL HELP NEEDED FOR NIGHT TO SHINE. Looking for anyone who wants to help create corsages and boutonnieres for our special 2021 NTS participants. No experience needed; just a desire to come out for a few hours and have fun while serving and creating! We need ribbon cutters, flower sorters & cutters, wire assistance, glue gun operators and packaging help. Come join us in the Fellowship Hall on Thursday, January 7th from 9 am to 12 noon (or whatever time your schedule will allow). Call or text Karen Mirabella with any questions: 215-872-6882. Thank you so much in advance.

WE EXTEND congratulations and prayers to Aaron Vogelzang who will be ordained and installed as Deacon today. We also extend congratulations and prayers to John DiLenge on his installation for his second term as Elder, and to Jim Kinney and Tim Leidy on their second term as Deacons. May God bless their ministry among us.

IF YOU ARE THE TREASURER of an organization within the church, your financial information should be turned into the office by December 30th, if possible, and in no event later than January 11th.

PAUL KRAUS IS COLLECTING cancelled stamps for the Perkasie Leo Club. These will be sent to veterans who use them for therapy. Before you throw out your envelopes, please save the stamps for this ongoing activity. A collection box labeled ‘STAMPS’ will be located in the coat closet outside the office. Paul Kraus and his Perkasie Leo Club thanks you!

OFFERING ENVELOPES for 2021 are in mailboxes in the narthex. If you would like a box of envelopes but didn’t get one, please contact the church office. If you do not have a mailbox and you requested envelopes, you may pick them up in the office.

TODAY IS THE LAST Sunday of the month and the last Sunday of the year! That means this is the First Sunday when you might drop in your Gospel Gleanings envelope for the Chad and Niger initiative. That assumes you got on board early. In the event you’ve not yet signed up, this is the Last Sunday the tables for signing up will be up in the narthex. Don’t dilly dally any longer; sign up today!

ANNUAL DINNER & BUSINESS MEETING of Leidy’s Church takes place on Saturday, January 16th. Please fill out the registration form in the bulletin and place in the box provided at the Welcome Desk. At this meeting a budget will be adopted for 2021. A copy of the budget will be posted on the narthex wall.

  • Pray for the 15 Literacy Teachers in India who each teach 30 Erukulu students five nights a week. Ask the Lord to grant them wisdom in their teaching, knowing how to communicate basic reading skills and basic truths about the Christian faith.
  • Pray for Global Disciples as they seek to connect with local clusters of churches in Chad and Niger. Ask the Holy Spirit to connect the right clusters of churches with Global Disciples in order to bring gospel water to dry and thirsty people.

WE EXTEND appreciation and thanks to Ed Schmidt for his willingness to give of his time and energy, and for his faithful service on Consistory these past six years.

ALICE KRAUS WILL BE COLLECTING gently used bras to help trafficked women establish microbusinesses. Please ask your friends and neighbors if they can help. This is an on-going collection that ends in late Feb. 2021 but anytime you have bras she can take them. Any size/shape/color – even nursing bras are accepted. A labeled collection box will be placed in the coat area. Thank you very much!

PATTERNS OF PRAYER take place the first and third Saturdays of each month. We pray in the morning from 10 to 12 in Room 117. Participants are welcome to come and go as schedules permit/necessitate. This Saturday is the first Saturday of January, so we’ll be praying and you’re welcome to join as well. If you have any questions or suggestions for prayer, please speak with Patricia Martindell.

THE NEW PRECEPT STUDY that was going to start on January 6th has been pushed back to February 4th. If you have any question, please see Verna Bowman.

EACH YEAR LEIDY’S CHURCH is blessed with wonderful folks who come alongside families and help kids know and follow Jesus? They are called Sunday School Teachers, and we have the best. However, we have a few Sunday School teaching or assisting needs. Please consider joining the Sunday School teaching squad as they communicate the love of Christ to the kids of Leidy’s church. Please contact the church office to sign up as a teacher or assistant this spring.
