THE SERMON TITLE this morning is The Living God Is Not an Idle Idol. From the time of the Fall, mankind has sought to cast God in the image of man. Our culture today teems with obvious evidences of that fact. The rebellious spirit of our day is a direct result. We’re not the first generation or the first culture to battle against the Living God. The Philistines walked that road and it began to consume them. The Bible teaches us that God is a living and active God, not an idol conceived in the mind of man. Man – male and female – is made in the image of God and must turn from idols to serve and follow the living and true God.
IF ANYONE IN THE LEIDY’S CHURCH FAMILY would like to help bless Ben and Sara Shoaf by providing meals, go to https://takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=VHFA7670&welcome=1 to sign up. There you will find important details including what not to make and their home address and be able to see what dates are open. Thanks!
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Yep, the rummage room is full!! Due to all the wonderful donations, we must close the rummage room until the October sale. Please find a corner of your basement or garage and hold all your donations for us until then. We love all your items, we just cannot store them here at the moment. Thank you!
WANT TO HELP? Here’s a need. Brian Shoemaker is coordinating a move of household goods and furniture for Joy Amstutz as she relocates. The expected date is this Saturday, August 15th. Brian has a truck rented and needs many hands to make light of the work. He plans to have the truck ready for loading at 10:15am. If you can help contact Brian (215-256-6649h or 215-353-6882c) or call the church office at 215-723-8707. Other sorts of help is needed also: cleaning up, packing, unpacking, and, of course, eating donuts. Masks are required to enter the building. Joy is trusting in the Lord during all this move and is profoundly grateful to each one for all the help already received and that which is yet to come.

GOSPEL GLEANINGS PROJECT:
Pray the Lord opens doors for the people He calls and equips to go to the region where the Erukula people are in India. Some things to pray for:
- Holy Spirit prepares the Erukula people to receive the people God sends to them.
- Holy Spirit graces and empowers those who will be sent to share the love of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Erukula people.
