THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Be Imitators of God. The word “imitation” has different meanings determined by its usage in context. Imitation can mean either genuine or counterfeit, to truly reproduce or artificially resemble. When Paul teaches that we are to be imitators of God he tells us what it actually means in contrast of what it does not mean. We will examine how being imitators of God distinguishes us from others who are living a contrary lifestyle.

WE LOVE TO PRAY FOR OUR KIDS! Each year we do that by matching kids with adults through the Pray Cards. It is time once again to send in your pictures of your children ages 0 – 12th grade. Please drop them off at the office or you can email them to office@leidyschurch.org no later than August 28th. Thank you so much. We value your kids and this wonderful way to connect people at Leidy’s Church.

THE BELL CHOIR is looking for substitute ringers, which could lead to a full-time bell ringing position. We rehearse on Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 7:45 and perform one Sunday a month. If you are interested, please call George Frueh at (215) 723-4769. Thank you.

A BOX FULL OF SEWING and knitting supplies will soon be sent to Ukraine for Love Cradle. If you would like to add to that, there is a box labeled “Love Cradle Transition House” in the coat room. Thank you for your donations.

A SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE will be held on 9/11 at the Warren Royer American Legion Post in Souderton. It begins at 6pm. 86% OF WOMEN WOULD CHOOSE LIFE if just one person will support them. Will you Be The ONE? When you participate in Walk 2021 for the North Care Women’s Center, you are saying, “Yes, I will be the ONE person who helps a woman choose life!” Be The One Walk 2021 is on Saturday, September 25th at Franconia Community Park. CARDIOLOGIST TODD ALDERFER is slated to be the speaker at the upcoming BMCE Business and Professional Breakfast. It takes place on Thursday, Sept. 9th at the Franconia Heritage banquet facility. Dr. Alderfer will explain how Jesus Christ has had a decisive influence in his life and practice. Tickets are $10 p/person for folk from Leidy’s Church. Beginning at 6:30am, the breakfast will be served buffet style with all sorts of good options. For tickets, contact Jack Parry or John Niederhaus or just call the church office.

CALLED OFF/CANCELLED. The bus trip to the Metropolitan Museum will not happen. The museum has bowed the knee to the elites of NYC and will require proof of vaccination for all persons over 12 who enter the facility. While the hostess of the trip has no problem with vaccination per se, she does not wish [nor wish for you] to kiss the hindermost parts of the over-grasping powers that be in NYC. All deposit monies will be used to pay the administrative costs assessed by the husband of the hostess.? Just kidding! Wanted to see if you’re reading this or not. All deposit monies will be returned forthwith.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE in our Thursday morning Precept Bible study, one covering 1 Corinthians is held on Wednesdays from 9:15 to 11:30 am beginning September 8th in the Telford area. The sub-title is Overcoming Divisions & Difficulties in the Body of Christ. Why are there so many divisions in the church, and why is sin sometimes tolerated? Are you experiencing any of the same problems that the Corinthians did in your own relationships or in your church? Paul addresses these issues raised by believers. Contact Cindy @ preceptaholic@gmail.com to register.

FIRST EVER PA MARCH FOR LIFE happens on Monday, September 27th. A Perkiomen coach will be leaving from the Leidy’s Church parking lot at 7:30 that morning; it hopes to be back at that location by 5 in the afternoon. There will be a Rally at 11 on the steps of the Capitol Building and the March takes place at noon. Speakers at the Rally include Jeanne Mancini, President of the national March for Life, Ryan Bomberger of the Radiance Foundation, and Abby Johnson the former Planned Parenthood Clinic Director whose life was chronicled in the movie Unplanned. There is no cost for this bus trip – the PA Family Institute has an anonymous donor that is underwriting the cost for a bus from each county in PA! GOSPEL GLEANING PRAYER POINTERS

  • It’s transition time for the outreach to the Erukula people. The Literacy program will wind up in September; the sending forth of 10 church planters is on the horizon. We should pray for both groups and Psalm 119:33 is a good verse to do just that. Here’s what it says: Establish my footsteps in Your word, do not let any iniquity have dominion over me. For the 450 literacy students their walk with the Lord without the protecting order of nightly classes and encouragement begins soon. For the 10 church planters, their walk of going among the Erukula people begins soon also. Each church planter will contact/speak with 1000 persons/households between October 2021 and September 2022. Guess what? They need footsteps established in God’s Word. So do we.
  • The events of Afghanistan have a spill-over effect in other countries grounded in the Islamic worldview; that includes Chad and Niger, our two focal countries for this year’s Gospel Gleaning support. In each country there are scattered clusters of Christian assemblies committed to reaching out with the Gospel to unreached people groups in their respective countries. Pray that their fervency would not be diminished, and that the Holy Spirit would guide them in their planning, in their recruitment, and in their going forth. Pray for God’s protection and anointing on each person and each family as they go forth.
