News and announcements from the Immanuel Leidy's Church community.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Men of whom the world was not worthy? You’re kidding! The first half of Hebrews 11 is populated by figures we’ve come to know and respect, folk who were looking for the city of God. The second half of Hebrews 11 is a different story. It includes folk of questionable status. Nonetheless, they are called men of whom the world was not worthy. How can this be? They sinned; they deserved the wrath of God. How can we celebrate them? Well, though sinful, they had faith in Christ. God worked deliverances through them. We are, thus, thankful for their faith. We need to be responsive to the same grace, for it extends to us as well.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Larry Anders, Tim Leidy, Bonnie St. Onge 22nd; Jenny Lafty, Peter Lockman, Astrid Rau, Bob Shafer 23rd; Julia Martindell 24th; Kaitlyn Rittenhouse 26th; Naomi DiLenge, Lorraine Reich 28th.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Paul and Lois Wile 26th; Ben and Evangeline Smith 27th.

THE AUGUST FELLOWSHIP LUNCHEON happens today. No agenda, no expectations, just good, simple food and fellowship in the Lord.

THE ISSUES & ANSWERS SCHEDULE for August is filled with opportunities to get informed about God’s work around the world. Here’s the line-up:
August 18th – Chris Kulp serving with 100Fold in US & Asia

With the exception of Mr. Gale, all the speakers are included in the Leidy’s Church Mission budget. From each of the speakers we will be able to catch a good look at what God may be doing in their part of the world and gain insight on how to pray and support that work.

Many, many trees on their property were toppled during the June 19 sheer wind/tornado storm that ransacked the Woxall area. If you’re looking for firewood logs to take home, they’ve got some for you. They also would be glad for folk who would help pick up sticks in their picnic grove in preparation their Oyster Supper next month. For complete info, contact Pastor Kevin Park at 267-373-7230.
