WITHIN THE FELLOWSHIP:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! James VanDerbeek 29th; Betty Hughes, Deb Hughes, Lula Kershner, Don Nase 30th; Sonja Gregory 31st; Gus Niederhaus, Katie Tawney September 1st; LeRoy Gehman, Carl Thompson 2nd.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Delton and Laurie Plank 29th; Stan and LaRue Friday 30th; Earl and Rose Jaunzemis 4th.

THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Jesus: The Author and Perfecter of Faith. The title of this message comes directly from the book of Hebrews; and why not, for it says it all! Jesus is our Savior. He has fully atoned for our sins. He graciously offers salvation to sinners. He graciously grants salvation to those who repent and believe in Him. Just as they needed Jesus in their time, so we need Jesus today in our time. As a matter of fact, we will need Jesus for all of eternity! As we examine the Bible texts chosen for today, we will gain a better understanding of why we give thanks to God that Jesus must be, and is, The Author and Perfecter of Faith!

WE WELCOME JOE GALE to Leidy’s Church this morning. Mr. Gale, one of three Montgomery County Commissioners, is an active Christian and a faithful advocate for pro-life issues. We need to keep him and all our elected officials in our prayers. They exercise delegated authority from the one who governs all things, the Lord God Almighty. We pray they will do so in a responsible, faithful fashion.

THE ISSUES & ANSWERS SCHEDULE:

  • Today – Joe Gale serving as a Montgomery County Commissioner
  • Sept. 1 – Dave Reich
  • Sept. 8 – Rally Day Breakfast for all @ 8:00am
  • Sept. 15 – SLMT-Cucutta Report Back
