WITHIN THE FELLOWSHIP:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Larry Anders, Tim Leidy, Bonnie St. Onge 22nd; Jenny Lafty, Peter Lockman, Astrid Rau, Bob Shafer 23rd; Julia Martindell 24th.
THE SERMON TITLE this morning is Home Improvement, Part 2. Three weeks ago we considered how so-called Home Improvement shows on TV are not reality shows about “homes” at all. They are about houses. A house is not a home. We don’t need houses so much as we need homes. Women and men have specific roles to fulfill in homes being homes as intended by God. We’ve learned some of the strategic advice the Bible gives to women about their roles. This week we will scan some pertinent biblical passages to hear what the Lord might have for men. As we’ll see and hear, God speaks clearly and straightforwardly to men.
IF ANYONE IN THE LEIDY’S CHURCH FAMILY would like to help bless Ben and Sara Shoaf by providing meals, go to https://takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=VHFA7670&welcome=1 to sign up. There you will find important details including what not to make and their home address and be able to see what dates are open. Thanks!

JOIN US FOR COVID CAROLING: All who would like to join us to go Covid Caroling on Monday evening August 17 at 6:30 pm meet at the church parking lot. We hope to bring joyful songs to some of our members who are unable to attend church because of illness and Covid restrictions. We think they might enjoy some good Christian hymns to remind them they are in our thoughts and prayers. We will have hymn sheets available for all participants. If you have any questions, you can contact Jill Ott, Ruthie Niederhaus, Connie Smith, or the church office. We won’t be able to reach all our people, but we’ll reach some. Who knows, we may do this again, and reach more, if all goes well!
