THE SERMON TITLE this morning is The New Covenant. The term “new covenant” occurs in the OT only in our text from Jeremiah. It was spoken in a time of great despair for the people of God. Nebuchadnezzar had taken away many Israelites into exile in 597 BC. Our text comes sometime after that, at a time when Jerusalem is threatened with a final and thorough destruction. In the midst of such discouraging times, God proclaims news of the new covenant! It’s hard to believe. Similarly, when Jesus appeared to the disciples that first Easter, it was a dark time, and hard to believe. Yes, we too, were dead in our trespasses and sins.

Or, you may register before or after church on Sundays at the table in the narthex. The church office also will take calls from folk who want to register to give blood but keep forgetting to do so on Sunday morning and don’t want to go to the website.

WE KNOW YOU HAVE HEARD of SLMT, what about SDMT?
They’re somewhat dramatic. They love Jesus.

WE ARE THANKFUL that our Rummage Room is full and overflowing! Since we would love to still have your items, please hold them now until the sale. You can drop them off between Sunday, May 5th and Tuesday, May 7th. Thank you.

THERE’S NO SUCH THING as too many cooks in the kitchen as far as the VBS team is concerned. This year we’re trying something new for VBS dinner. We’d like five different families/groups to take a turn providing dinner for the VBS crowd just one night. This means preparing a simple meal for about 100-120 people. It can be something as easy as baked ziti, chili, or sandwiches. If you’re willing to take a night (June 17-21) please contact Laura Heebner 215-872-9834.
