Love Cradle Needs Hands Helping with the Rocking

            Steve and Iryna Yagilnicky head up the Ukrainian orphans ministry called Love Cradle. This is a fairly new ministry, which means there is a need for lots of help. While they have a cradle full of opportunities in the form of Ukrainian orphans, they still need lots and lots of hands to keep that cradle going  at the proper speed. For instance:

ü      individuals and/or families that just want to help

ü      folk willing to host Love Cradle information get-togethers

ü      folk with computer graphic skills

ü      folk who can direct fun events

ü      folk who can make things

ü      folk with fund raising ideas/expertise

ü      folk who might like to make a mission trip to Ukraine

They are not looking for full-time volunteers yet. If you have just a spare hour or two every couple of weeks that would be just fine. Give them a call at 215-723-0263 for more info or to volunteer.

Warm Kids Clothing Needed for Ukrainian Orphans

            One of the ministries of mercy being sponsored by Love Cradle is the collecting of warm clothing for children in the Ukrainian orphanages with which Love Cradle works. This is intended to be a year-round, ongoing project–the need is that great!

            A drop-off bin is located next to the entrance to the church office. It is marked [believe it or not!] Love Cradle. Please bring good clothes, not things you are just wanting to move from an old closet. Shoes, mittens, socks, boots, gloves, and such ancillary items are just as needed as the regular shirts, blouses, sweaters, coats, pants, and skirts.

            Oh, don’t be afraid to tell family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers about this ongoing need and the opportunity to help meet it.

            You’re welcome!

Praying for Missionaries

    Sometimes we want to pray for folk, but don’t really know how to go about it. That can be true particularly in the case of our praying for missionaries. We may not have heard from them in recent weeks, nor be able to identify just exactly what it is they are doing.

    Well, if that shoe fits, then here’s a helpful list of suggestions for us to use when praying for missionaries:

-      Health and Safety – physical well-being is always important;

-      Marriage – lots of stress when on the mission field;

-      Children – schooling issues, friends, culture issues on the field and at home;

-      Parents – care issues when one is on the other side of the world;

-      Team relationships – they’re still human and issues of humility, flexibility, and teachability remain important;

-      Spiritual life – they need inflow of God’s Word and Spirit in order to have an outflow;

-      Language – often it takes years to become competent and confident in a language;

-      Culture – big shock for lots of folk when they get to another land;

-      Spiritual warfare – the devil is prowling about on the mission field too;

-      Gospel sharing – they need open doors and godly intuition;

-      Adjustments – there are constant adjustments and changing roles;

-      Church involvement – for strong local indigenous churches, or, for the establishment of a local congregation is they are church planters.

There are many more ways of praying, but that should help you get off the starting line.

Hosting Program from Love Cradle

            As many of you are aware, Iryna Yagilnicky is the head of an organization named Love Cradle, International. Among the many services provided to folk in the Ukraine and the United States is a new Hosting Program.

            Here’s how it works. School age orphans from Ukraine are hosted by an American family for two to four months. Often this is a situation where the host family is considering adopting a child, but that is not always the case. The program affords the opportunity for Ukrainian orphans to experience something otherwise not available to them. Most families have found that school age orphans are eager to learn and a delight to have around. That doesn’t mean they’re perfect, but they do seek to fit in and be a blessing.

            For those actually considering adoption, this is a process that allows for a good “reality check” before finalizing things. Because school age orphans often are more difficult to place, the program really allows for an acceleration of the entire adoption procedure should a host family decide that it should become a “forever family.”

            If you or someone you know would like more information about this program, or, already know that you would like to host a child, then contact Iryna directly or through the Leidy’s Church office.

New Glad Tidings India Church Planter

            The church planter Leidy’s Church is supporting the country of India this year is Sucha Singh. We should keep him in our prayers regularly.

            Recently we received a report detailing some of the results of his work thus far. After being in the program for four months–three of which are in the field–he has had 241 persons pray to receive Christ. Though only one person has been baptized, there are seven more ready for baptism. He has founded six witnessing Prayer Cells, which are basically house churches. Among those whom he has ministered there are now 65 persons regularly attending worship and Bible Study.

            We praise God for His good work through Sucha Singh. Keep Sucha in your prayers.
