Evangelism Committee

The Evangelism Committee is responsible for coordinating various means to share the Good News of Jesus.  The Evangelism Committee meets monthly, and is open to any member of Leidy's Church. There are many different ways to get involved in spreading the gospel, and this committee is a great place to start.

Evangelism Explosion

Evangelism Explosion, better known as EE, is a 14 week course that teaches people how to share their faith in a systematic and understandable way. EE has two parts: classroom study, and on - the - job - training (OJT). During OJT, EE'ers visit people that have made contact with Leidy's Church. If you always wanted to be more confident in sharing your Christian faith, then EE is for you. Please contact our Associate Pastor.

EE News

Have You Ever?

Have you ever been approached by someone who knew you and who asked about your faith in God? Throughout my lifetime I have had numerous encounters with people I’ve worked with or hung out with who have asked me about spiritual matters. These contacts were not necessarily prompted by anything I specifically did or said but because of what the Lord was doing in my life. Sometimes it was a faith response to a hardship I or my family were facing or it may have been that the person heard that I was a Christian. In any case, the opportunities came and I had the privilege of sharing the Gospel with those individuals over lunch, a cup of coffee, or even during a sports event. In every situation I was glad that I was trained on how to share my faith with someone without fear of messing it up.

You know that my experiences are not unique to me. I’m sure that you could tell me of similar experiences as you live for the Lord. Friends, family members, neighbors and fellow workers or students are seeking to understand what you have in Christ. They are looking for hope in what appears to be an uncertain world. They can see that you have an anchor for your soul. I Peter 3:15 exhorts us to sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account of the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence. Are you ready for those who may ask you to give an account of the hope that is in you? If not, let me encourage you to take the Evangelism Explosion training being offered at our church this fall. The EE Level 1 training is a 13 week training that will begin August 14th and end on November 20th, due to two weeks of break scheduled during the semester. One of the breaks will be Labor Day week and the other will be the week of September 24th when we will be hosting the EE Clinic.

Please pray and ask the Lord if you are to take this discipleship training. A sign up will be posted on the narthex wall. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.
